The Green Flamingos beaks have been filtering the dreamy pop of the Shins and the telluric vibes of the Alabama Shakes. This highly eclectic and electric air-drawn musical animal took off in 2013 on the shores of Lake Geneva. Its plumage is imbued with folk-garage, country-pop, soul-rock, even indie-electro.
The Flamingos are Yoanna Claquin (lead), Anthony « Long John » Salles (bass), Davide Cortorreal (drums), Tommaso Soave (keyboards) and Julien Garric (guitar). The band is composed of former members of Magic Bus and Jumpin’ Quails, as well as current Rebels of Tijuana. Pop Club folks do stick together like birds of a feather.
Their first EP (5 tracks), recorded in late 2014 at Back to Mono Records, will be released in digital music stores on 23 Feb 2015 (vinyl with mp3 download code, edition limited to 300 copies).
